BlackBerry Curve 8530 hits Sprint and Verizon

RIM’s BlackBerry Curve 8530 smartphone (aka Aries) finally hits Sprint and Verizon Wireless. This new curve is basically the CDMA version of the Curve 8520th Like the 8520, the new 8530 features a 320 × 240 LCD display, a 2 megapixel camera and a QWERTY keyboard.

The Curve 8530 is boosted by a procesor 528MHz and 256MB RAM. It supports WiFi 802.11b / g as well as Bluetooth 2.1. The smartphone also includes GPS / A-GPS support and BlackBerry Maps. The built-in media player supports MPEG4, H.263, H.264, WMV9 and most audio formats. It offers a microSD / SDHC card slot for expansion. The smartphone supports dual-band CDMA 2000 1X EVDO 3G network.

The BlackBerry Curve 8530 is available from Verizon for for $ 100 after a $ 100 mail-in rebate with 2-year contract. Sprint has not announced pricing but its version of the Curve 8530 will come in Black, Royal Purple and Red.
