
Sony unveiled its Atom-based Pine Trail VAIO W and Y series CULVER-powered VAIO notebook. The former is an eco-friendly mini notebook with a reprocessed plastic chassis comprised of approximately 23 percent recycled CDs.
The VAIO W is boosted by Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and f GMA 3150 graphics. It has a 250GB hard drive and a multi-in-one card slot. The VAIO W comes with a 10.1-inch 1366 × 768 LED-backlit display. Sony’s VAIO series Y, instead, sports Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 1.3GHz CULVER processor, 4GB of RAM and GMA 4500MHD graphics with HDMI output. It gets up to a 500GB hard drive and a 13.3-inch 1366 × 768 LED-backlit display.
